How we became experts in Content ETL

Where to find us

We started in 2004 doing mostly web content migrations. We used several third party software products but all of them lacked the flexibility to deal with the unstructured nature of web content and migrations in particular. 

Therefore in 2009 we decided to develop our software. As of 2012 we saw the first enterprise migrations coming our way, because other, straightforward migration tools did not suffice any longer. By the end of 2013, we decided to transform from a services company to a software company and we released our Content ETL Platform.

The proliferation of digital documents combined with content fragmentation is an unavoidable and unstoppable market trend, and certainly one of the biggest challenges companies are facing today. 

Our Content ETL platform helps companies to deal with these challenges, but also unlocks the value in it! As such we are very excited to play a leading role in this rapidly growing area of expertise.

Management Team


Rikkert Engels
CEO and founder

An entrepreneur at heart, he founded Xillio in 2004 and has 17 years of experience in enterprise content management industry. Engels studied business management at the University of Groningen.


Jana Kortusova
Financial director

Jana has more than 20 years experience in the financial sector, mostly at ABN AMRO and Wood & Co. Kortusova earned an MBA at TSM Business School Netherlands.


Ernst van Rheenen

Ernst is responsible for the product roadmap and architecture of both migration and integration software. He is often asked as a migration expert at complex projects.



Sjoerd Alkema
Manager Migration Services

Sjoerd is responsible for our professional services department. This division implements our software and services at our customers. He has experience as a consultant and as a product manager at Capgemini, among others.


Marc Glomb
Vice President Business Development

Marc works from our San Francisco office. He has previously worked as VP Business Development for EntropySoft. EntropySoft was sold in 2012 to Salesforce. EntropySoft delivered a similar product with a similar business model as Xillio.

About Xillio

Xillio has developed the Content ETL Platform with the goal to solve the challenges organizations face with their fragmented content repositories. Challenges for staying in compliance, challenges for managing the productivity of internal employees, but most of all challenges for organizations to react in a timely matter to changing market conditions.

The Content ETL Platform contains a very easy scripting language, Xill. It has out-of-the-box connectors to most of the common content repositories (including file shares, SharePoint, OpenText, Documentum, FileNet, Adobe and more), a Unified Data Model and unique modules, like classification, de-duplication, and version recognition, to improve the quality of the metadata. The platform gives organizations the necessary insights in their information landscape, the tools to improve it and the possibility to integrate their point solutions while drastically increasing their agility.

Xillio partners with most large System Integrators and also with specialized local implementation companies. Xillio is headquartered in Hilversum, Netherlands and Chicago, USA.
